The Horse Illustrated Guide to English Riding is a clear, well-illustrated guide to the basics of English riding.  When you're learning to ride, it often helps to be able to read about what you've been working on in a lesson. This would be an excellent book for beginning riders to refer to often as they progress.

Lesley Ward starts by helping a beginner choose a riding school, an instructor, and appropriate riding wear. She then moves progressively from mounting for the first time all the way up to beginning jumping.

Whether you already own a horse or are enjoying, or thinking about starting, lessons on a school horse, this book can certainly help you on your way to becoming an accomplished rider.
