This isn't a book I would bother with. It's out-of-date (a horse for $500 and a saddle for $300) and while it covers lots of material beginners need to know, there are many newer books that do it better. This was obviously written before the modern understanding of horse behaviour and training and even contains incorrect advise such as telling the rider to lean forward to make the horse go forward.
