Build Traffic to
Your Site
To put it bluntly, a web site without traffic is as useless as a book without readers. Whether you have a web site to share your passion for horses or to make money to support your horse habit, you're wasting your time if no one visits.
Freebies
One way to attract visitors is to offer freebies. You are welcome to offer any
of the Acreage Equines' free
downloads from your site, and if you become an affiliate, I will provide
customized versions containing your affiliate linking code. E-mail
for more information.
However, you still have to let people know what you offer.
I don't claim to be an internet expert, but I am the kind of person who likes to learn. Having been a horseperson for many years, I have a large library of equestrian books to which I refer whenever I'm faced with a new challenge in my riding or teaching. Now that I'm working on the internet, I'm gathering a similar collection of references about building web sites and web-based businesses.
Make Your Site Sell
One book that I've found tremendously useful is Ken Envoy's Make Your Site
Sell. Unlike the publications of other web gurus, this e-book is not
expensive and it's worth every penny. If you prefer real books, it's also
available in traditional format. Following Envoy's step-by-step directions will help you increase your web income or the number of people
you reach with your message. You can download
a free trial from this site or go to Site
Sell to learn more. (Once you buy one of Envoy's products, you get a
discount on all future purchases. And until December 24, it's buy one, get one
free.)
Another great resource from Envoy is his free 5 day e-mail Affiliate Masters
course. He'll teach you how to create and work from a Master Keyword List to
build a site that appeals to both visitors and the search engines and makes
money in the process. To sign up, all you have to do is send
a blank e-mail.
CONFESSION: The reason I was attracted to Ken Envoy's materials in the
first place probably had something to do with the fact that, in the great
anonymity of the internet, he lives in the town where I used to board my horse
many years ago! Good thing.
